Ere.net and more on those LinkedIn recommendations

April 24, 2010

Firstly, anyone who recruits inside, outside, third party or contract for a company needs to be a member of the ERE.net network.   It’s a community for recruiters apart from other social networks and it is jammed-backed with excellent recruitment information from every avenue of the activity.  It is a blogging platform for thousands of recruiters and it has possibly the most comprehensive listing of available recruitment jobs in North America.  It’s free to join, if you haven’t done it already do it today – www.ere.net

Why that little commercial for ERE.net?  Many blogs, articles, and opinions are only available to ERE.net members and the one I am about to highlight is one of them.  It’s entitled ‘  Really, You Want ME to Write YOU a LinkedIn Recommendation’ and it describes the protocol and pitfalls of providing a recommendation when the person asking isn’t a good performer in your opinion.  It’s written by Omowale Casselle, CEO of mySenSay, a social recruiting company that focuses on simplifying entry-level recruiting with social media & intelligent analytics.  Plainly put, he owns and operates a job board for students that goes much further than simply posting jobs.  Check out the interaction and connectivity at www.mysensay.com It’s the thinking students search tool – it should be………….in addition to a successful engineering career, Omowale is also an MBA from Harvard. He is typical of the quality of bloggers and their opinions available for free through social networks today. Ok, enough of the preamble – here’s the link to Omowale’s most recent blog – http://ow.ly/1CgMz If it doesn’t work, give yourself the best gift of this week and join ERE.net
